There are primarily three options for home schooling children:

  • Independent Home Schools,
  • Non-Public Schools, and
  • Accredited Online Schools.
  1. Independent Home Schools in TN

    2. TN Intent to HomeSchool Form- must be completed and returned to the schools/system each year (see attached)
  2. Non-Public Schools in TN with Non-Public Schools List

  3. Accredited Online Schools in TN

*Home Schools and School Sports in Putnam County:

  1. Eligible home school/non-public school students may tryout for Putnam County Schools athletic teams like other public school students if they wish. Notification must be given to the school system by August 1 and to the individual school by August 15 of each year. (PCSS 4.301) .
