The Tennessee School Board Association recently recognized a Putnam County student. Adeleine Moore, a senior at Cookeville High, received a Student Recognition Award at the TSBA Upper Cumberland Fall District Meeting.

Each year, the TSBA recognizes students from across the state who have distinguished themselves in academics, community and service activities, and leadership roles and activities.

Adeleine certainly fits those criteria. She has a 4.51 weighted GPA, serves as the Senior Class Vice President, is a former vice president of the CHS Women for Change, and is the director/president of the Period Project, where she raises money, assembles packs, and delivers products to middle schools and high schools across Putnam County. Adeleine is also a Cookeville High varsity tennis team member and coaches children through the Rally Cats organization. She has also served as a Stage One Dance teacher.

The daughter of Lane and Shannon Moore, Adeleine is one of nine students across the state of Tennessee to receive a student recognition award. All nine students will be asked to write a 1,000-word essay on a selected TSBA topic to be considered for the statewide overall winner. The winner will be recognized at the TSBA Awards Ceremony of the Annual Convention in November and awarded a $2,000 scholarship. Education Networks of America will also give the statewide winner an additional $2,000.
